The picture in the middle is the building we were in and the bottom floor of that building in the room we are in. The second floor of that building is now the street level of Seattle. After the 1889 Seattle fire they rebuild the city on top of the rubble left from the fire so Seattle has an underground city. 
This is a sky light that people are walking on above us on the sidewalk level.
